About Talent4Tomorrow Sarasota

The Talent4Tomorrow Partnership seeks to build a competitive workforce by supporting data-driven programs and collective actions which increase the number of college* graduates in fields that are high demand and high wage. The Talent4Tomorrow Partnership is comprised of area leaders committed to ensuring our local economy is resilient and competitive.

In 2015, Talent4Tomorrow aligned with the Florida College Access Network (FCAN) to identify strategies for improving college attainment rates for Sarasota youth. Through the Goal 2025 Report, FCAN recommended that a “Community Scan” be implemented. The Scan identified existing stakeholders and resources assisting students to prepare for and enroll in post-secondary institutions, gathered feedback on perceived barriers to college enrollment, identified possible strategies for improving college-going rates, and built a coalition to increase collaboration among community partners. The Community Scan also outlines community goals around addressing the Aspirations, Affordability, and Awareness variables that impact college enrollment rates. Particular emphasis was placed on targeted strategies to address the following college readiness and success metrics:

  • High School Graduation
  • FAFSA Completion
  • Pell Grant Funding
  • Bright Futures Eligibility
  • Post-Secondary Enrollment
  • Post-Secondary Attainment

*College is defined as any post-secondary credential, including industry-recognized 1-year certifications from technical colleges, as well as traditional 2-year and 4-year degrees.
